Personal & Professional Interests

I teach informational literacy skills to students in grades K-8. Media is a major part of information literacy. My students need to understand how to make wise choices about the information available to them. I am interested in creating a project with eighth graders related to how media impacts the individual-their perception of self, their actions, and their motivation. Personally, media is both fascinating and disturbing and I need to wrap my head around it so I can better inform my students and my children.
